We’ve had a lovely election, and we hope you have too. It’s been great to have lots of positive feedback, it really means a lot to us that so many of you found Big Smoke’s election coverage useful, enlightening or just plain entertaining. Nice.<\/p>\n

However, we sense that there’s only a certain amount of election statistics crunching that you lot will be able to take so very, very soon we’re going to stop looking at the numbers and what they mean and go back to talking about things that are happening far from the glitz and glamour of City Hall.<\/p>\n

We’re going to keep on keeping track of the Olympics, and we’ll even try to be positive about them occasionally, because we do understand the desire to cheer on a team and watch people in lycra perform meaningless tasks exceeding well.<\/p>\n

We’ve got some lovely strikes coming up tomorrow which I’m sure we can all come together, as a nation, to enjoy – but what else would you like Big Smoke to cover? We’re always keen for tips, or submissions, from our readers and as we find our feet again after the heady daze of the electothon which managed a record low in turnout (wooo!) we want to change gear and get back to reporting some of the community news we’ve missed in the last month or so.<\/p>\n
