Eco Champion Job
Deadline – ASAP to end Jan.
We are looking for one or two people to work casual part time in a team of two, as eco champions in the Archway Low Carbon Zone, so far the most successful of the 10 LCZs chosen by the Mayor, on behalf of Islington Council (LBI).
Islington has done a lot of work on the big properties but to reach the 20% carbon reduction target LBI need to get more private homes involved. The job (pay from £8.50 an hour) involves door knocking for two shifts of 2 to 4 hours a week evenings and weekends over about eight weeks, promoting more take up of measures like draughtproofing to reduce carbon footprint (and therefore bills).
The area covered will be the LCZ concentrating on Whitehall Park and Despard Rd areas. Most of the work will be at the weekends and you don’t need to be an expert but an interest in the issues would be useful. If you would be interested please let us have your CV at
