On Thursday Labour came in extremely comfortably with an increased majority in Feltham and Heston.

It comes as no surprise that they won the seat but in the wake of the Euro-fall out David Cameron would have been hoping that his blue team would have performed much better. Big Smoke’s predictions for the front runners were spot on but we were wrong to think the Cameron’s anti-EU posturing would have made life harder for UKIP who managed to retain their deposit for the first time in the seat.

Both Coalition parties took a hit at the polls as did the woefully inept BNP, while Labour, UKIP and to a smaller extent the Greens made gains.

Labour: 54.42% (+10.8%)

Conservative: 27.71% (-6.3%)

Lib Dems: 5.87% (-7.8%)

UKIP: 5.49% (+3.5%)

BNP: 2.33% (-1.2%)

Green: 1.83% (+0.7%)

English Democrats: 1.39% (-)

People Before Profit: 0.55% (-)

Bus Pass Elvis: 0.40% (-)
