Lambeth Save Our Services are holding an organising meeting this Thursday (5th Jan) at 6.30pm in the Vida Walsh Centre, Saltoun Road (just off Windrush Square).

“We would love to say that following the Xmas and New Year break we can all take it easy, but I’m afraid the attacks and cuts we face to our services, jobs, the NHS and welfare state are greater this year than even last year. But we are building up networks of resistance in the community and in the unions and 2011 saw huge resistance across the world, from the Middle East, to Greece to our own back yard in Lambeth.

“If it weren’t for our campaigns of resistance in all likelihood there would be no One O’clock Clubs left, far less of a library service, less front line staff in housing and more cuts to youth services to name just a few of the issues we have taken up with other community groups and trade union branches. So we can make a difference. Please try and come along to our first planning meet of the year.”
