One of the nice things about Christmas is that it’s a special day of the year. When we advertise it two months in advance it undermines the whole thing and means we live 1/6th of our lives in Christmas time. No. Just no.
So it may be a worrying trend if shops and homes start keeping their decorations up well into the second half of January. Smiles in Brockley, Lewisham, disagree and they have a festive spirit that cannot be squashed. Ever since I saw this Friday night I’ve been spotting bits of left-over Christmas all over. End it now!
