Cycle campaign group Bikes Alive staged a second protest tonight ( #bikesalive) outside Kings Cross against Transport for London (TfL) inaction on dangerous junctions. The group say they intend to hold weekly protests at the spot from 6pm on Mondays until there is a commitment to deal with the junction between York Way and Euston road outside King’s Cross station.

Around 80 cyclists staged a ‘go slow’ around the area between six and seven PM while supporters handed out leaflets to passers by explaining what the protest was about. The leaflets claimed “enough is enough” and that TfL “prioritises the speed and volume of motor traffic over the health, safety, and ease of movement of the community as a whole.”

The leaflet continues “Whether or not we succeed tonight, this will be just one of many such attempts to defend ourselves from the inherent violence of the traffic which threatens and poisons us.”

The ghost bike commemorates student Deep Lee who was killed at this junction last year

The protest was good-natured, but one driver thought he was right to 'bump' a cyclist in his way
