The Evening Standard and various right-wing blogs have attacked Labour for their party political broadcast claiming that the ‘ordinary Londoners’ were in fact paid actors. Labour’s team have come back with this strong video proving that, as you would expect, they used Labour supporters who lived in London and who do want Livingstone to win.

Some have attempted to keep up the pressure claiming that the broadcast is dishonest in that it appears to be vox pops but is in fact scripted. This seems very thin. To expect a party election broadcast to be unscripted is simply strange and Labour may not be perfect but they would have be complete fools to use non-supporters or non-Londoners in their broadcast, nor would they need to.

I might have considered voting Labour next time but having just listened to a political broadcast on behalf of them, it was entirely about the wrongs of the Conservatives. I would have liked to have know what they would do. Slanging the other party off surely will not bring in votes. I believe it looses them. I was very disappointed and completely put off.
