Today hundreds of protesters gathered outside of the US embassy in Grovsner square to protest against war and occupations.

Organised by the Stop the War Coalition and CND to coincide with talks in Chicago with the G8 and Nato. Protesters called for an end to the occupation of Afghanistan, the end to threats against Iran and for the abandonment of  nuclear weapons.

Two of those who spoke (video below at end of the page) were Labour Assembly Member Murad Qureshi, who denounced Israel saying they “pose a threat in the Middle East, not anyone else” and Green Party Assembly hopeful Natalie Bennett who, while saying that “bombing Iran is not the answer” because “the people of Iran can take on for themselves the misogynistic, homophobic, undemocratic regime.”
