Campaigns Intern (Paid, 6 months)

Our paid intern roles provide an opportunity for individuals who wish to combine practical experience of campaigns with research and analysis. You will be given clear, structured projects to suit your interests and develop your skills, although you will also be involved in a variety of activities arising on an ad hoc basis and undertake some administrative work.

The role will be varied but tasks are likely to include:

• Assisting with FairPensions’ current campaigns
• Development of campaign materials
• Researching environmental and social issues for new FairPensions’ campaigns
• Compiling and writing reports
• Liaising with external campaign partners and supporters
• Media and parliamentary monitoring
• Campaigns and fundraising administration

Research Intern (Paid, 3 Months)

FairPensions publishes the only annual rankings of the responsible investment performance of the UK’s leading institutional investors.  Our surveys help to define and promote evolving best practice across the investment industry; explore barriers to change and advance solutions to these; and put powerful information into the hands of pension fund members and other industry stakeholders. Our surveys receive widespread coverage in both mainstream and specialist media.

We are looking for an intern to join our small but dynamic team who will lead on the production of our 2012 survey.

Working with the Director of Engagement, you will be the lead researcher for FairPensions’ 2012 survey on the UK’s largest ethical fund providers.  Your main tasks will include:
• Conducting both desk-based research and phone interviews with representatives of ethical fund providers.
• Analysis of data.
• Liaison with external experts and advisors to the project.
• Preparation of the final report.
• Working with our media & communications officer to prepare press releases.
